JordanCon 2026 Recap

This was my second year in author’s alley and it was even more amazing than the first. I almost sold out of book one… tons of people took my ribbon quiz and all my Swag and Seek items vanished faster than I could put them out.

If you aren’t familiar with JordanCon, Swag and Seek is a big part of the convention. People place trinkets out around the con space and throughout and after the con, they share photos of all the things they found. This year I did mini swords with tags that said “Magic, Mystery & Mayhem”. I had 85 in all and people were tracking me down to get one. It was such a hit, I am upping my game for next year.

Ribbons are another big part of the con. I have a QR code that people can scan to take a quiz to see how they would help save the world of Redolan… or burn it down. There are different ribbons based on their answers and it is always a big hit. I love seeing what everyone gets, especially when a group of friends or couples take it at the same time. Some good team pairings often pop up. Here are my badges from the last four years. I am a ribbon collector myself.

This year my friend Penny joined me at Con. It was her first time attending something like this and she loved it. I am so excited that she will be back with me next year. Penny, Matt, JoAnna and Cisca were a huge support. Between hyping me up, doing all the heavy lifting, and manning the table, they were all invaluable. I am so thankful for friends like them and humbled by their support.

I am part of the Black Towed and this year I got to pin my first Dedicated. I was pinned as a full Asha’man last year and that meant a lot. I love being a part of the BT because they focus so much on veterans and giving back to the WoT community, and both things are close to my heart.

This year Brandon Sanderson returned to JordanCon for the first time since the pandemic. I was able to get my copy of Memory of Light signed AND I gave him a mini sword. I was standing less than two feet from him. It was heady!

I had so much fun at JordanCon. It is always a highlight of my year. The people at JordanCon are more than friends… they are family.
